Marvel Melon is a 2023-2024 Take the Lead Fellow. Marvel graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston in May 2023 with a degree in Sport Leadership and Administration. During his time at UMass Boston, Marvel actively pursued hands-on experiences, completing three impactful internships with industry leaders such as New Balance, the Boston Athletic Association, and Fenway Sports Management. Additionally, Marvel dedicated his time serving as treasurer of UMass Boston's My Brother's Keeper program, where he mentored elementary school students and supported professional development initiatives for his peers on campus.
Marvel's fellowship experience with the New England and Boston sports teams has provided him with invaluable insights into the sports industry. His favorite projects include contributing to the Boots on the Ground Memorial at Gillette Stadium, assisting with the Army-Navy Game White Glove Program, capturing content for the Bruins' "Behind the B" show, executing Boston Celtics United events like Sr. Celtics, Curbside Care, and Pursuing Pathways, hosting private community groups and tours with the Red Sox, and assisting with the Annual Bowl for a Goal charity event with the New England Revolution and Special Olympics Massachusetts.
